<p>Radio personality, music enthusiast, avid DJ and revered  Icelandic pop legend Andrea Jónsdóttir was born in the small town of  Selfoss, where she was brought up along with three siblings and some  farm animals. She studied English at the University of Iceland for two  winters, but was very happily saved from further studies when she took  the post of copy-editor at left-wing newspaper Þjóðviljinn in 1972 where  she worked and wrote about music for over a decade.</p>
