The conference venue Harpa is the new cultural pride of Reykjavik and is now the residency of The Icelandic Opera and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. Danish architectural firm Henning Larsen Architects designed the building along with Icelandic architectural firm Batteríið Architects. Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Elíasson designed the building´s glass façade and was completed on Reykavík´s Culture Night. Harpa hosts various cultural events including film screenings, operas, concerts and musicals which makes it a very appropriate choice for YAIC 2011.
