Alex is a musician, composer, parent and IT geek.  To be more specific, Alex has been involved in music for the last 17 years from the punk/indie scenes in Halifax in Canada and in Reykjavik, as a graduate of composition at the Iceland Academy of the Arts, and most recently as the managing director of gogoyoko, a music service that allows artists to sell directly to their fans in a store that focuses on independent music culture and fair pay for artists.

Shortly after moving to Iceland in 1998, Alex started working in the startup scene at OZ.com and has worked for many other tech companies in the past decade while simultaneously pursuing a music career and starting a family.  Alex has played with kimono, a local Icelandic arty-farty rock band, since 2001.  gogoyoko is the first time that the tech side has been married to the music side of Alex’s life and it’s totally awesome, wicked and lots of other words we used to describe Gem and the Holograms back in the day.
